Amazing hike in the central part of the island at the bottom of the volcano of Lagoa do Fogo, where you will hike among lush vegetation, water streams and a beautiful natural waterfall that you can even swim in. In the end of the hike, you will also have the opportunity to relax on the hotsprings that are naturally heated by Lagoa do Fogo volcano. Also included in this tour is one of the most important views of the Island – the viewpoint to the caldera of Lagoa do Fogo – one of the seven wonders of Portugal! This hike takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete and it is 8.5 km (5.2miles) long with a medium difficulty level.

Our journey begins at 9:00 AM in a rugged Toyota 4×4, promising both comfort and durability. We set off on an exciting 30-minute off-road expedition, heading towards the heart of this awe-inspiring adventure—the base of the stunning dunes. Accompanied by our knowledgeable guide, you'll find yourself surrounded by the enchanting lagoons of Lençóis Maranhenses, each with its own unique charm. Our exploration leads us to a series of remarkable lagoons, like the glistening Blue Lagoon, the tranquil Lazy Lagoon, the culturally rich Toyoteiro Lagoon, and the dazzling Emerald Lagoon. And these are just a taste of the captivating lagoons on our itinerary. But it's more than just the lagoons that make this adventure exceptional. It's the profound connection you'll form with this surreal landscape. Around 1:00 PM, our journey comes full circle, returning you to where it all began. The trail starts at Levada do Alecrim, in the area of Rabaçal. Follow the course of the levada until you get to a detour to the path that will take you to Lagoa do Vento. Turn left on the path and start to descend. From here the path radically changes and you start walking in the heart of nature. The floor is sometimes irregular and can be slippery, so caution is advised. Immerse yourself in the natural surroundings and enjoy a completely different and unique walk! Enjoy the panoramic views from the several viewpoints than you find along the trail. Continue down until you reach the magnificent lagoon Lagoa do Vento. The tour begins in Ponta Delgada towards Sete Cidades. It includes a few stops at different viewpoints and the chance of visiting the most beautiful and unknown areas of the west and central parts of our island. After a stop at Vista do Rei viewpoint, we will descent the road that leads us into the interior of this valley to visit Sete Cidades parish. After admiring the Church of St. Nicholas, we will continue on our way towards Lagoa, through the South Coast of the Island, to have lunch at a local restaurant. Then, the tour continues towards Lagoa do Fogo, with stop at Caldeira Velha with some time for a visit. Before returning to Ponta Delgada, we will make a short stop to admire Lagoa do Fogo, from the top of Pico da Barrosa.

Trail through the riparian forest and Scuba diving in one of the most crystalline flooded caves of the world. Snorkeling is also a option. For those who have never dived before, a first diving experience called “baptism” is offered, reaching the maximum depth of 8 meters. For certificate divers, the depth to be reached depends on the level of certifi cation. Lagoa Misteriosa, which translates as “Mysterious Lagoon”, is a lake at the bottom of a sinkhole, a type of geological formation common in limestone regions. This lake of transparent waters impresses visitors for its incredible depth, it is considered one of the deepest submgerged caves in Brazil, with more than 220 meters of water column. The vision of the blue abyss at the bottom of the lake, the submerged tree trunks, the aquatic vegetation, the golden leafs and small fishes shining with the sunbeams in the water, all this transforms the Lagoa Misteriosa in a unique environment.
