Balmoral Castle

Starting from Aberdeen we trace the river Dee to Balmoral where you can walk in the footsteps of generations of Royals who have called this estate home. *Balmoral Estate is closed from 12th of August 24 until 1 October 24. We visit the National Trust For Scotland's Crathes Castle during the closure. Take a stroll in the charming Victorian village of Ballater, explore the local heritage, the Victorian train station and the views of the area. Next, we visit the iconic Cambus O'May suspension bridge, before we continue our journey to the Tomnavarie Stone Circle. Finally, on our way back to Aberdeen, we stop at Queen Victoria's favourite views of Aberdeenshire.

Your expert guide will collect you at 8am for this 8 hour tour and take you to His Majesty's Windsor Castle and the World Famous Stonehenge. There can be no better way to explore the Kings favourite home and the UK's most famous stone age monument and walk and explore them fully and at a relaxed pace! We know how to skip the long lines at each venue to ensure you make the best use of the time. By having your own vehicle all day we can also stop whenever you need for breaks or to just grab that stunning countryside photo you spot! Balmoral Castle & Royal Lochnagar Distillery From Inverness ​ Before stopping at the castle we will stop at the crathie kirk church for 30 mins before going on to Balmoral Estate. ​ In 2025 the grounds, gardens, exhibitions, gift shop and cafe will be open to the Public on a daily basis from 1st April until 31st July. Opening times are from 10.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m. however please note that the last recommended admission is at 4.30 p.m. We recommend that you set aside at least one and a half hours for your visit to Balmoral. This will give you time to visit the grounds, gardens, exhibitions, gift shop and the Pipers Hall Cafe. You will have access to the formal and vegetable gardens, the exhibitions in the stable area and largest room in the Castle, the Ballroom. Their is also a audio handset tour, which is available in English together with Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish translations. The audio tour is only available for admissions before 4.30 p.m.

Our 2-day tour starts at 09:00 from Edinburgh. Passing the iconic Forth Bridges, we head to Dundee, known for its V&A Museum. We continue north to Montrose for lunch, famous for seafood. Next, St Cyrus and Dunnottar Castle await, offering rugged coastline views and rich history. In Stonehaven, explore the town before heading to Aberdeen for overnight stay. Day 2 begins with a visit to Crathes Castle west of Aberdeen, renowned for its gardens and history. Lunch in Ballater precedes our tour of Balmoral Castle, the Highland retreat of the British Monarchy. Heading south, we stop at Devil’s Elbow for Highland vistas and wildlife spotting. After a break in Perth, known for its ancient history, we return to Edinburgh via the Forth Bridges, concluding our journey.

Join us on a wonderful half day private tour to the famous Windsor Castle. We will pick you up from wherever you are staying in your own private large tour vehicle with your own driver/guide. We will take a short 45min to 1 hour drive to reach the castle. Along the way our driver will delight you with stories on the castle the King and the Royal family. They will escort you up to the castle entrance. The guide will tell you exactly how to do the castle and what to see and when. Note they do not guide inside any part of a Windsor Castle including the grounds. You then self guide with the castles audio guide for the state apartments, doll house and chapel. The guide will then be waiting for you at the exit in the vehicle and drive you though the stunning village of Eton on the way back to London and your accommodation. Let us take you to the Scottish Castle that has been lived in by every King & Queen since Queen Victoria in 1856. You will be able to walk through the grounds and visit the State Room in the castle. The distillery, opened in 1845, is one mile from the castle and sits at the foot of the Cairngorm mountains.

Over the centuries this 900-year-old site has been extensively rebuilt and remodeled thanks to the 39 monarchs who have lived there. *St George's Chapel (Queen Elizabeth II resting place) within the grounds of Windsor Castle is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England. Construction of the present Chapel began in 1475 under the reign of Edward IV. When visiting make sure you look up and admire the stone ceiling, which was added by Henry VII. The Chapel has been the location of many royal weddings. Within the Chapel are the tombs of 11 monarchs, including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip. George VI, Henry VIII and Charles I. Take a guided driver tour to the stunning and famous town of William Shakespeare, Stratford Upon Avon. Let's explore his Birthplace, his School, his family home, his final home and of course his final resting place. We can have a great pub lunch in the town and even have some town for shopping. We can then visit Warwick Castle built in 1068 by the King of England William the Conqueror. This place will blow your mind they put on shows and have actors in the castle. Deep in the stunning Ballochbuie Forest (part of the Kings’ Balmoral Estate) lies the “Honka House”. This log cabin was a gift from Finland for the Queens silver wedding anniversary and has been a favourite picnic spot for the Royal's ever since. Near the retreat are the stunning Falls of Garbh Allt, over which Queen Victoria had a beautiful iron bridge installed in 1878 and it is still in use today. The tour will be set at your own pace and there will opportunities to stop and admire the views. Our tour also takes us over the famous Invercauld Bridge, which dates back to the 18thC. After the walk the can visit Balmoral Castle or the Royal Lochnagar Distillery, depending on seasonal open times. Please contact up re dates.
