The Frida Kahlo Museum, called La Casa Azul is the Intimate Universe of Frida Kahlo. In this house, the artist lived most of her life; initially with her family and years later, with Diego Rivera. Frida wanted to leave her home as a museum, to be enjoyed by her beloved Mexico. For this reason, after her death, Diego organized here, the Frida Kahlo Museum. Since the Museum’s inauguration in July 1958, the Blue House exhibits the ambiance that inspired Frida for her creation, as well as her personal belongings. Along with paintings by both artists, are displayed popular art pieces, pre-Columbian sculptures, photographs, documents, books, and furniture. The garden is an essential part of the Blue House and it gives you access to the exhibition of Frida’s Dresses. At Casa Azul you will find the first portraits and self-portraits of the painter, unfinished works, photographs as well as her belongings, books, writings and a unique collection of dresses. Among the most famous works in the Frida Kahlo museum are found in the museum are: "Viva la vida" and "Frida and the cesarean section". In this exhibition you will NOT find her most famous works, they are in the Dolores Olmedo Museum, which is closed indefinitely. This visit includes a written digital guide.

We will start this tour at Frida Khalo Museum – The Blue House, where Frida lived with Diego. This tour continues at Coyoacan, one of the most emblematic towns of Mexico City. Next, you will visit the Anahuacalli museum, wich served as a studio to Diego Rivera and shows a great collection of prehispanic art pieces. Then we will enjoy a tour at Xochimilco by a colorful boat or "trajinera" (1 hour of rental cost included) to cross the canals. Along the way, visitors can eat, party with family or friends, sing with a mariachi or simply enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are few things in Mexico City as traditional and unique as this one. Lastly, we will be visiting the biggest university campus from the whole country – UNAM. The central campus was declared world heritage site and you will see why. Starting from a centrical spot we'll head to our most frightening tour in Mexico City for Día de Muertos night. We'll visit the Anahuacalli museum to look at the offerings in the Día de Muertos altars. This museum dedicated to Diego Rivera's work has expectacular altars that colorfully paint one of the most important nights of the year. We'll continue our nightly tour in Xochimilco a neighborhood full of canals, we'll enjoy a ride in a trajinera, our traditional colorful boats. We'll listen to our most fabulous leyendas from Día de Muertos and have a food tasting of some iconic meals such as tamales, mexican hot chocolate and our delicious pan de muerto. We'll end our trajinera ride along Xochimilco and take you back to the original meeting point around 10:00 pm.
