During our hike, we will follow a river bed under thick vegetation and encounter an abundance of native flora and fauna: strawberry trees, myrtle, heather, junipers, alder and holm oaks are also the setting for possible encounters with wild deer, mouflons (wild goats), wild boars, rabbits and martens. At the top of the hills where the vegetation is more sparse, we'll walk over rock formations with bizarre shapes, spot golden eagles, peregrine falcons and the exemplary Sardinian goshawks, a bird of prey native to Sardinia. At the end of our hike we'll relax and enjoy a small picnic and you will have the chance to visit the botanical gardens nestled within the park where you'll get to see some captive deer close up.

The nights of Aegean Gastronomy are held twice each week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The number of participants is limited each time, which gives our chef the advantage of preparing a special menu of six courses almost as if it were private. Our chef prepares fish based courses using local ingredients and fresh same-day catch, which are the basis of the menu. Five lables of wine, as the Asyrtiko from Santorini, Malagouzia from Paros, Robola from Kefalonia, Mosholfilero from Mantineia and the sweet Malagouzia from Macedonia could accompanying the Nights of Aegean Gastronomy. The selection of each variety is meticulously made to match the course served. The wine tasting accompanying the Aegean tasting menu is optional, at 40 euros per person.

If you like, Akiko can help you purchase local ingredients to take home. After the tour, join Akiko in her kitchen to make classic Nagoya dishes such as red miso stew, shrimp tempura in a rice ball or fried chicken, Nagoya style. You will also learn to make dashi, the foundation of Japanese cooking. Your cooking class will last about an hour before you sit down to share the Nagoyan style Japanese meal you helped prepare. Akiko is thrilled about the opportunity to share specialties from Nagoya as a lot of people don’t know how to cook Nagoya-style food. Because of this, many Nagoyans themselves eat their local specialities at restaurants!
