On this tour you’ll delve into Portugal’s Neolithic period (circa 5500 to 3000 BC) and explore two of the region’s earliest and most remarkable megalithic sites: the Menir of Almendres and the Cromlech of Almendres. It is during this period when agriculture emerged, along with many other significant cultural and social developments. This is one of the most surprising Industrial Tourism experiences that can be carried out in Portugal. The visit begins at the meeting point with a brief explanation of the geography, geology and history of the sector at the Núcleo Documental do Mármore. The program includes a visit to a quarry to learn about the marble extraction processes, followed by a visit to a sawmill where the marble is transformed for subsequent application. The visits take place in Alentejo, municipalities of Vila Viçosa and Borba, 50 minutes from Évora and 2 hours from Lisbon. During the visit, visitors are provided with a helmet and a vest for mandatory use during the visit and which will be returned at the end.

In this tour we visit Monsaraz. We would never allow that when coming to our region you could miss this incredible village. With breath taking views you can wonder the streets and feel that in there the time stopped. On the way there we will also visit a pottery shop at São Pedro do Corval. Located next to the biggest artificial lake of Europe, this amazing site was during centuries one of the most important castles of the region. A place of many trades and stories. This private guided tour will introduce you to cork, one of Alentejo's natural riches, accompanied by a guide specialized who will show you a cork processing factory and show you the natural environment (Montado) characteristic of Alentejo, in one of the most beautiful portuguese views from the top of the incredible Évora Monte castle. Cork is a plant material of Cork Oak (Quercus suber). Lightweight, resistant, and with great insulating power, it is an increasingly used raw material in the world with several applications.
