Osumi Canyons and Bogova Waterfall from Berat – Tour by 1001 Albanian Adventures

The drive from our office to Bogova village takes 45 minutes, during which time you can enjoy the view of the small, picturesque villages dotting the area. After a short break for refreshment, you will begin a 40-minute hike towards the Bogova Waterfall, a true monument of nature, part of the National Park “Tomorri Mountain”. The crystal-blue water falls from 20 meters of height feeding a 12-meter deep pool. The spot is perfect for taking in the sun, relaxing amidst the sounds of nature, and taking an energizing swim in the crisp water before heading to the second stop: the Osumi Canyon. As we drive for the next 20 km to reach the canyon, you will journey along the legends and spiritual heritage of the area. The Canyon run for 26 kilometers, offering a unique ecosystem of vegetation, smaller streams and pools where you can swim, depending on the weather.

BIKE RENTAL and BIKE TOURS in Berat by 1001 Albanian Adventures


1001 Albanian Adventures has launched its newest service for the cycling enthusiasts. From July, in the premises of our office you will be able to rent the type of the bicycle that you like, mountain bike, city bike or the elegant lady bike as well, in order to be able to visit the surroundings of Berat. You can rent the bikes for different time slots, starting from one hour up to 24 hours, depending on the activity you are planning. For more information please do not hesitate to contact!


Winetasting tour in Alpeta winery – Roshnik village by 1001 Albanian Adventures


Roshnik is a well-known village in the area of Berat and often it is called as the cleanest and one of the most civilized villages. We will travel for around 25 minutes to enjoy the greenness and the pleasure that the regularity of vineyards transmits. We will have a walk through the vineyards and the fields, and then visit the mosque of the village, which is relatively new and is characterized by an interesting architecture. A famous family of the village is Fiska, a family who now runs an agritourism and produces its own wine and raki (traditional Albanian alcoholic drink). We will have a break in the premises of the winery to get introduced to the process of wine making and taste different types of alcoholic beverages. Roshnik is also famous for its dried fig production, so we will be able to accompany wine tasting with some nice dried figs, types of cheeses etc, depending on the season of the visit.

Audioguide is the newest service in Berat offered exclusively by 1001 Albanian Adventures. This service offers three important advantages: Languages: offered in Albanian, Italian, French and English. Autonomy: means that any visitor who comes with his family or his friends will be provided the same information as a classic tour with guide, but can do it all day long -not limited to the time of the tour guide- enjoying being together with friends or family in this beautiful city, overflowing during the centuries of history, culture and tradition. Costs: reduced more than double comparing with the classic tour with guide, but can still be reduced because it offers the possibility of being used in two, thanks to the two jack-ports for earphones. The audio guide is accompanied by an animated map that will facilitate to find sites of historical and cultural significance and thus will facilitate the tour. This is a great possibility to freshen up during summer and its burning temperatures, especially in Berat. This refreshing trip to the natural pool created from Sineci source gives the opportunity to swim in the fresh water coming directly from the underground. Apart from the refreshing part there is also the possibility to visit a very interesting and mysterious cave nearby. A personalized tour guide and private transportation offered for the 30 min trip and 30 min walking to the source. This is a half day trip that can start at any hour of the day, upon preferences. Gjirokaster City Tour & Blue Eye Adventure


The fascinating old centre of Gjirokaster is on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Largely medieval, with some lovely architecture to admire, reflecting the town’s wealthy past, it is built on a hill overlooking a valley and mountains. This interesting museum will give a good impression of the way of living in Albania during the Ottoman period. For lunch we will leave town and drive to a nearby lake, where some specialties of the area can be tasted. On our way back to Saranda, we will pass from the national park Syri I Kalter. In this peaceful forest, we will walk (5 min) to the crystal clear spring called Blue Eye, where 900 m3 water per minute is coming from deep down the earth. If time permits, there will be a short coffee break at the restaurant next to the fast streaming river in the park, before heading back to the port of Saranda.


TOMOR MOUNTAIN HIKING from Berat by 1001 Albanian Adventures


The national park of Tomorr mountain now offers a lot more opportunities to hike, trek and explore the area. This tour can be arranged in two options, to reach either the castle of Tomorri or the highest peak of the mountain. With the first option, we will drive for about 1.5 hrs to reach the village of Tomorr and then from there start hiking up toward the castle of Tomorri. The hike/trek is around 1.5 – 2 hrs depending on the travelers’ level. We will then reach the place called ‘Qafa e Skures’ in where we will rest and enjoy the fantastic view of the mountain just in front of us. We can have lunch in here or around 80m above, at the castle (ruins of the castle). An experienced local guide will be with us to tell us some of the most interesting stories, legends and cultural heritage of the area. We will get down through another shorter way, to enjoy another view of the park and village as well.
