Short description: Go across one of the longest suspension bridges of the world and walk the Paiva Walkways trail! Visit one of the highlights of Portugal: Costa Nova, and Aveiro, the Portuguese Venice! We leave from Porto towards Arouca town where we'll stop shortly for toilets. After a short drive, we'll go across the Suspension Bridge! It spans 516 meters-long across the valley and hangs 175m above the Paiva river! Enjoy an EXCLUSIVE TIME SLOT! Then, you'll walk the Paiva Walkways downhill in a total length of 5km over a wooden boardwalk zig-zagging along the Paiva river. Lunch is another experience! (meat, fish and vegetarian options available) After a power nap in the van, we'll visit Costa Nova and the colorful houses! Time to enjoy Aveiro! Short walk in the city center, enjoy some free time and relax on a boat trip to see the charming city through the canals!

This is the best day tour from Porto to the Arouca 516 Suspension. With a very convenient pick-up from central Porto you will head straight to Arouca. In Arouca there is a brief stop where you are invited to taste the local specialities, enjoy the green area just outside the monastery and to get ready for the connection between Arouca and the 516 Arouca. Around 20 minutes after departing from Arouca we reach the bridge and the Paiva Walkways! For the next 3 to 4 hours (depending on the pace of the group, weather conditions, picture times, etc.) you will spend your time crossing the bridge and walking along the Paiva river in a wooden walkway. After this great hike we follow a mountain road for 15 minutes and have lunch in a family owned restaurant in Alvarenga! The ride back to Porto will last for around 90 minutes. Be brave! Join us!

It spans 516m-long (1,692ft) across the valley and hangs 175m (576ft) above the Paiva river! Notice: crossing the bridge is not mandatory. You have the option to skip it. Then, you will walk the Paiva Walkways downhill in a total length of 8km over a wooden boardwalk zig-zagging along the Paiva river. Time for lunch! A delicious meal is waiting us! Meat, fish or vegetarian options available. After lunch we’ll discover Arouca for a glance about local culture and history including: convent sweets tasting.

On the river beach of Areinho is where we start the walk and after km 2 we will go to the suspension bridge 516 Arouca. After passing, we start the remaining 6 km that provide an "untouched" tour, surrounded by landscapes of unique beauty, in an authentic natural sanctuary, next to whitewater descents, quartz crystals and endangered species in Europe. The route extends between the river beaches of Areinho and Espiunca, with Praia do Vau between the two. A journey through biology, geology and archeology that will surely stay in the heart, soul and mind of any nature lover. After walking we have the traditional bifana and vinho verde to replenish our stomachs.
